Visit Trinity College, the world famous 8th century illuminated manuscript the Book of Kells & Exhibition and also the Old Library which is worth the admission alone! Walk through Dublin’s many beautiful Georgian streets to Dublin Castle, first built by King John of England in the early 13th century. Closeby is St Patrick’s Cathedral, Ireland’s largest church building and an incredible museum. See the famous Door of Reconciliation and the tomb of Jonathan Swift. Visit Christ Church Cathedral and the medieval centre of Dublin where an entire city streetscape of Viking Houses was unearthed along with millions of artefacts from that era.
Stroll through history and on into Temple Bar the bustling centre of modern night life. Then out to the Liffey river and cross the iconic Halfpenny Bridge which has come to symbolise the city. Meander down Batchelors Walk to O’Connell St and O’Connell Bridge. Hear the fascinating story of the Liberator, Daniel O’Connell. Visit the General Post Office which was the centre of operations for the 1916 Rising and which is held in almost shrine like awe in Ireland.
