Tour Details

See all or any of the following in one week long tour:

  • The essential Dublin City Tour. A panoramic drive around Dublin’s principal sites and sights.
  • County Wicklow Mountain National Park and its stunning scenery like the Guinness owned lake.
  • Glendalough & Powerscourt. These two must see visits are essential to any Wicklow tour.
  • The National Stud & Japanese Gardens. Ireland is famous for its horse breeding and The Life of Man walk in the Japanese Garden is an unforgettable experience.
  • The Rock of Cashel. See this stunning fortress site which was originally a monastery founded by St Patrick.
  • The Jameson Distillery in Midleton, the headquarters of the Jameson company and an active distillery which is a wonderful tour.
  • Blarney Castle and the Stone of Eloquence. An essential part of any Irish visit. There is a lot more there than just the castle and the Blarney Stone.
  • The Old Head of Kinsale. One of the most spectacular landscapes in Ireland which hosts possibly Ireland’s greatest golf course creation.
  • Beautiful Kenmare. Fabulous for foodies and so quaint.
  • Killarney. The epicentre of tourism in Ireland and such a buzz town.
  • The Ring of Kerry. No visit to Ireland can be complete without a drive around this 130 mile circuit of stunning scenery and history.
  • Dingle Peninsula and its charming and colourful town is also an absolute for any Irish visit.
  • The Burren National Park is a most unusual yet historic landscape of limestone and caves and an array of plantlife that is difficult to believe.
  • The Cliffs of Moher at 200 metre high and 5 miles long is a stunning visit and one of Ireland’s most well known sites.
  • Galway City is a bustling busy and very popular town with locals and visitors alike.
  • Connemara National Park is a day long visit at least. A different landscape again but spectacular in its beauty.
  • Kylemore Abbey is a real wow moment when first seen. There is history here too and a wonderful love story to go with it.

An alternative one week long tour:

  • The essential Dublin City Tour. A panoramic drive around Dublin’s principal sites and sights.
  • Malahide Castle occupied by the same family for almost 800 years. A wonderful tour.
  • Howth is a little harbour town north of Dublin city. It is a great favourite for seafood cafes and restaurants and a walk along the pier.
  • Newgrange 5500 year old Passage Tomb and World Heritage Site is an incredible and ancient place to visit. You will marvel at its construction.
  • Monasterboice hosts two of Ireland’s most iconic High Celtic Crosses.
  • Belfast, Titanic Centre. See everything you ever wanted to know about the great ship and its construction.
  • North Coast drive is one of Northern Ireland’s jewels. The long drive around this coast with views of Scotland and Rathlin Island is wonderful.
  • Carrick a Rede Rope Bridge. See how brave you are crossing this bridge which was erected so salmon fishermen could bring home their catch.
  • The Giant’s Causeway, 40,000 hexagonal basalt formations which beggars belief.
  • Dunluce Castle dramatically perched on the edge of a cliff. Be there before it falls into the sea.
  • The Dark Hedges is one of the filming sites from Game of Thrones and quite an eerie and unusual place.
  • Walk the walls of Derry City which is known as The Maiden City as its walls were never breached and are fully intact to this day. A lovely warm welcome awaits you in Derry.
  • Slieve League Cliffs in Donegal are among the highest in Europe and a spectacular and accessible site to rival anywhere.
  • Glencolumcille is a very quaint rural community that is remote and friendly. It is also a gateway to the most incredible and enjoyable hiking in Ireland.
  • The Ceide Fields in Couty Mayo is one of Ireland’s most ancient monuments with evidence of farming going back perhaps 7000 years.
  • Connemara National Park is a day long visit at least. A different landscape again but spectacular in its beauty.
  • Galway City is a bustling busy and very popular town with locals and visitors alike.

Terms & Conditions

My name is Sean Patrick O’Rourke and I am a fully badged national tourist guide for all 32 counties north and south, trained and licensed by Failte Ireland which is the Irish Tourist Board. I am also a licensed driver of all vehicles from luxury saloon cars up to a 16 seater bus. Under current legislation in Ireland I am one of the few who are qualified to drive and guide in all these classes of vehicles.

For the majority of my own tours I use my own touring vehicle which is a modern, clean, air conditioned luxury touring Mercedes Viano (or for smaller numbers of 1 to 3 I drive a Mercedes E220 Saloon). It is capable of carrying up to 6 passengers. With sizeable luggage the ideal capacity is 4 passengers. (a larger vehicle can be brought in and the prices are different for that)

It should be noted that motoring in Ireland comparative to other countries is expensive (my touring vehicles cost 75,000 euro and 55,000 euro respectively). On the other hand a small private tour with a properly qualified driver guide in Ireland is quite a unique and valuable experience. Many of the places you will see and visit will be added to by the colourful narrative of the driver guide. I will be there beside you to answer a multitude of questions about Ireland and its fascinating culture and history.

  1. Driver Guide hours on the road are carefully monitored by our National Roads Authority for safety reasons. It is very important to note that the normal touring day quoted above includes my services as a driver guide for up to 8 hours including lunch break. I must stress that longer timeframes and ex and a full tra site visits may not be possible or cost more and would be decided on the day. Please note also that all prices above do not include any site entry fees or any food and refreshments.

These costs do NOT include hotels, air fares, lunches, dinners, any internal site entry fees (usually quite small). When a full itinerary is planned and dates are confirmed I will then add accommodations as required and a full cost package.

These costs do NOT include hotels, air fares, lunches, dinners, any internal site entry fees (usually quite small). When a full itinerary is planned and dates are confirmed I will then add accommodations as required and a full cost package.

Please be aware that during all tours I apply strict government and EU rules about items that are not allowed in the touring vehicle. No meals of hot food or hot drinks (teas, coffees) are permitted. No alcohol, no potato chips of any sort or no chewing gums are permitted and each vehicle is a NON smoking one.
