Visitors to Dublin often wish to travel outside the city for a day. Why not take a private tour with one of Ireland’s best fully badged national guides to visit the wonders of County Wicklow to the south which can be reached easily in less than an hour. Wicklow includes Glendalough early Christian Monastery, Powerscourt House, Gardens and Waterfall as well as the spectacular Wicklow Mountain National Park and the Guinness Lake. Or you may prefer to travel a little north of the city and witness the wonders of the World Heritage Site at Newgrange, a 5500 year old passage tomb. This tour can include The Battle of the Boyne Site, Monasterboice and Mellifont Abbey. All of these while viewing some of Ireland’s beautiful countryside. I am fully licensed to drive several classes of vehicles with 1 to 16 passengers and you can save by having me to guide as well.

You may wish to visit The Cliffs of Moher in County Clare or The Giants Causeway in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Or perhaps Galway City, The Burren National Park or the unique beauty of Connemara National Park. All of these can be done in a day tour from Dublin and by far the best and most comfortable way is by using a private driver guide in a luxury, air conditioned modern Mercedes saloon or people carrier. No long queues, no interminable waiting for big coaches and you can stop at far more places and at your leisure. Contact Sean Patrick Tours and please book early as next seasons bookings are filling up very fast.

Terms & Conditions

My name is Sean Patrick O’Rourke and I am a fully badged national tourist guide for all 32 counties north and south, trained and licensed by Failte Ireland which is the Irish Tourist Board. I am also a licensed driver of all vehicles from luxury saloon cars up to a 16 seater bus. Under current legislation in Ireland I am one of the few who are qualified to drive and guide in all these classes of vehicles.

For the majority of my own tours I use my own touring vehicle which is a modern, clean, air conditioned luxury touring Mercedes Viano (or for smaller numbers of 1 to 3 I drive a Mercedes E220 Saloon). It is capable of carrying up to 6 passengers. With sizeable luggage the ideal capacity is 4 passengers. (a larger vehicle can be brought in and the prices are different for that)

It should be noted that motoring in Ireland comparative to other countries is expensive (my touring vehicles cost 75,000 euro and 55,000 euro respectively). On the other hand a small private tour with a properly qualified driver guide in Ireland is quite a unique and valuable experience. Many of the places you will see and visit will be added to by the colourful narrative of the driver guide. I will be there beside you to answer a multitude of questions about Ireland and its fascinating culture and history.

  1. Driver Guide hours on the road are carefully monitored by our National Roads Authority for safety reasons. It is very important to note that the normal touring day quoted above includes my services as a driver guide for up to 8 hours including lunch break. I must stress that longer timeframes and ex and a full tra site visits may not be possible or cost more and would be decided on the day. Please note also that all prices above do not include any site entry fees or any food and refreshments.

These costs do NOT include hotels, air fares, lunches, dinners, any internal site entry fees (usually quite small). When a full itinerary is planned and dates are confirmed I will then add accommodations as required and a full cost package.

Please be aware that during all tours I apply strict government and EU rules about items that are not allowed in the touring vehicle. No meals of hot food or hot drinks (teas, coffees) are permitted. No alcohol, no potato chips of any sort or no chewing gums are permitted and each vehicle is a NON smoking one.
